I have a polychrome monk with a snow lion mask on his head that was drilled through to make a lamp at one time [my guess]. there is a hand written tag on the bottom that says 1929 Tibet. it has a few marks and chips out of the wood, but the color and paint are beautiful. I would love to know more about it.

    • Thank you for your message. Any expert from a museum with an important Himalayan art collection may be able to help you. Apart from the famous French adventurer Alexandra David-NĂ©el, few foreigners went to Tibet in the 1920s. If the item is genuine then it must be lively and colourful indeed.
